Pine Rivers Park, Strathpine
I’ve drawn inspiration from the local birdlife, focusing on a particularly playful species − the rainbow lorikeet. My interest in birds and their connection to play comes from the joy I experience watching them, whether in public spaces or at home as they splash around in my birdbath. The birds are depicted in playful poses, framed by abstract shapes that reflect how we often see them − partially obscured by foliage. The colour palette is inspired by the rainbow lorikeet’s vibrant plumage and also references the surrounding structures in the Pine Rivers Park environment.
