One meaning that comes across in this artwork is the effect of  the Global Financial Crisis on the world and how money seems to be the only thing keeping this world balanced.

Although, the main message I was trying to communicate through this piece was that money is preventing us from addressing our global environmental issues.

I began to draw this sketch at school after thinking about how people forget about the environmental issues and only focus on money related issues. In reality, without this planet we wouldn’t have anywhere to go or live.

the bedroom setting acts as the universe and the lamp acts as the sun. The piggy bank represents money and also the delusion that it is the solution to all our problems. The bed symbolises the fact that we are sleeping off these issues that need to be addressed.
